Hungarian concert at Canterbury Cathedral.


As part of the Becket Week the choir will sing at a joint Catholic-Anglican mass in Canterbury Cathedral at 1.30pm  on the 29th May  and after the mass  will give a free concert of Hungarian music in the Green Court Deanery from 2.30 pm.


The programme will feature these pieces among others at the Mass:

  • Missa Brevis of Mátyás Seiber
  • Pange Lingua and Ave Verum by György Orbán
  • O Sacrum Convivium by Gabriel Jackson

and at the Concert:

  • Dal from 4 Hungarian Folksongs by Bartók
  • Esti dal and Túrót eszik a cigány by Kodály
  • Alkony by Ferenc Farkas
